Internship (Summer 2021)


Overall Responsibilities

Engineering/Material Testing Interns will work on construction projects under the supervision of seasoned professionals. As a full-service consulting firm providing solutions in the western Nebraska and eastern Wyoming area, the company will provide a wide range of work experience to the successful intern candidate. Experience could include solutions at airport, street/roadway, development, water/wastewater and surveying projects.

The internship is a 12-week paid summer program. We offer in-depth work experience on real client projects in a supportive and collaborative environment. Strong analytical and organizational skills and excellent communication skills (both written and oral) are required. The abilities to manage multiple tasks and self-prioritize responsibilities are necessary. Must be highly motivated and client-focused, and must exhibit attention to detail and a focus on quality. Must work well in a team environment.


Key Areas of Responsibility

  • Accurate detailed daily recordkeeping
  • Material sampling and testing
  • Maintain good working relationships






  • Desired majors:  Civil Engineering, Agricultural Engineering, Construction Management
  • Current enrollment in an engineering, geology, environmental science or similar degree program (preferred)
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office programs (required). Proficiency with GIS or AutoCAD applications is a plus.
  • Willing to work flexible hours and be available for travel on an on-call basis.
  • Excellent writing, communication, and analytical skills.

Work Environment


Indoor     20% Outdoor   80%

Indoor classified as protected from the elements; may or may not be climate controlled.

Outdoor classified as subject to rapidly-changing or challenging environments, (including wind, rain, snow, etc.) and uneven terrain.

Work Schedule The majority of the work schedule will be Monday through Friday, not necessarily during normal business hours. Some weekend work may be required, especially during the summer months. Some travel is expected, approximately 75% of work time.
